City of Sydney and University of Sydney's Roller Derby League present this free event celebrating Wear It Purple Day.

Get your skates on and join us for a fun skating workshop and roller derby demo just for young rainbow people and their supporters aged 15 to 25.

No skating experience needed. The learn to skate workshops will teach you the basics and then you’ll get to chance to learn some cool roller derby moves from passionate skaters in the league.

Experienced skaters and spectators also welcome.

This also a great opportunity to find out more about joining a roller derby team.

What to bring:

Skates: bring your own roller skates if you can. Some skates will be available to borrow on the day in men’s sizes 4 to 9 and women's sizes 5 to 10. If you need other sizes, contact usydrollerderby@gmail.com before the event.

Helmet: Helmets are compulsory for all skaters and are not available to borrow.

Protective gear: Knee and elbow pads are optional. We encourage you to wear them if you have them.

Water bottle: bring your own reusable water bottle.

Socks and comfortable clothes: You’ll need to wear your own socks and clothes you can easily skate in. Purple outfits and accessories encouraged!

People aged 15 to 17 years need to be accompanied by an adult.

Bookings are essential.
